Caltrain will wrap up its public comment period today on its draft strategic plan that will set a vision for the agency for the next 10 years. The agency has been collecting comments for the past 10 months.The plan will frame key policy, service and investment decision, agency officials said in a press release.Part of the strategy will address the 2012 decision by the Metropolitan Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the California High-Speed Rail Authority, Caltrain and six other San Francisco Bay Area funding partners to establish an agreement to support a Caltrain/high-speed rail blended system on the peninsula and to invest early in Caltrain's modernization program. That program will fund the delivery of electrified service in the coming years."It is in the context of this new opportunity that Caltrain has updated its strategic plan to provide a vision and policy roadmap for the next 10 years," reads the draft's introduction.To read more of the draft, follow this link.
