Caltrain set to hike fares in new year

On Jan. 1, Caltrain will implement a fare increase approved by the board in October.
The commuter-rail agency will raise base fares 25 cents; multi-ride tickets and passes will be adjusted accordingly. The fare hike is expected to generate an additional $943,500 in revenue during FY2009.
