Tomorrow, Caltrain officials will hold the first in a series of community meetings to gather feedback on proposed fare increases.

The California commuter railroad is considering raising the cost of its adult base fare by 50 cents, which would increase the amount paid for the Day Pass, 8-Ride Tickets and Monthly Passes, as well.

Eligible discount fares would remain at 50 percent of adult tickets, Caltrain officials said in a press release.

Additionally, the railroad has proposed increasing daily parking fees at station lots from $5 to $5.50, raising the monthly parking permit fee from $50 to $55. Specific fare changes can be viewed here.

To collect input on these changes, Caltrain will continue holding meetings through Nov. 5.

Caltrain last adjusted fares in October 2014.
