Caltrain to raise ticket prices next year

Last week, the Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board — which oversees Caltrain — approved a 25-cent base fare increase. Multi-ride tickets and passes will be adjusted accordingly.
To take effect Jan. 1, 2009, the fare hike is expected to generate about $943,500 in additional revenue in FY2009 to help offset rising diesel costs.
