The Peninsula Corridor Joint Powers Board, which oversees Caltrain, has elected officers and installed a new board member.

The board elected San Francisco Supervisor Sean Elsbernd to serve a second term as chairman. San Carlos, Calif., Mayor Omar Ahmad was elected vice chair and San Mateo County Supervisor Adrienne Tissier joined the board, replacing Mark Church.

The board also set two public hearings on March 3 to solicit public comments on potential service cuts, station closings and fare increases as Caltrain addresses a potential $30 million budget deficit.

In addition, community meetings will be held Feb. 14, 16 and 17 for the public to review the proposals.
