advertisement
The governments of Canada and Ontario recently agreed to each provide up to $8.3 million to help GO Transit fund infrastructure improvements.
The proceeds will be used to widen six railway bridges in GO Transit’s Weston subdivision to accommodate a fourth track along the Georgetown South corridor.
The Canadian government will provide its funds through the Infrastructure Stimulus Fund, while the provincial government will tap a two-year, $32.5 billion infrastructure appropriation that was included in Ontario’s 2009 budget.
