On Nov. 18, Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) awarded Ohio Diversified Services a $3.35 million contract to demolish and rebuild the Red Line station at West 65th Street as part of EcoVillage, an environmentally friendly urban village.



The 2.5-story station designed by MAI Architects of Cleveland includes an entry pavilion to a 1,200-square-foot passenger waiting area. The climate-controlled building’s design also features an elevator, attendant booth, police mini-station, state-of-the-art security systems and RTA system information. RTA currently is seeking vendors for a possible concession area.



"The new station will be the centerpiece of neighborhood development oriented toward transit," said David Beach, director, EcoCity Cleveland, in a prepared statement, adding that EcoVillage residents will have transportation options that will help them save money and protect the environment
