On Tuesday, the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (GCRTA) elected board officers and committee chairs.
George Dixon was re-elected president, and Dennis Clough, mayor of Westlake, Ohio, was elected vice president to succeed Cleveland Heights Mayor Edward Kelley. Brook Park Mayor Mark Elliott was elected trustee to replace Kelley on the board.
In addition, the board elected the following committee chairs: Valarie McCall, planning and development; Bill Cervenik, finance; Jesse Anderson, operations; and Dixon and Sonny Nardi, executive.
The board also received a report on the agency’s fuel hedging program, which trimmed diesel costs 67 cents per gallon in January and 93 cents per gallon in February, according to the agency. GCRTA purchases about 400,000 gallons of diesel per month.
