The Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) received its seventh consecutive Certificate of Achievement of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The GFOA panel determined that CCTA's recent annual financial report demonstrated a constructive “spirit of disclosure” in reporting its financial story, CCTA officials said in a press release.
“Our board and staff are deeply committed to serving as responsible stewards of taxpayers’ dollars and are truly honored for this recognition of our work,” said CCTA Executive Director Randy Iwasaki.
Meanwhile, the Contra Costa Taxpayers Association honored CCTA with a Silver Medal Award for Good Government earlier this month for operating within 1 percent of its annual budget for administrative costs.
Additionally, CCTA leveraged other local, regional and federal funding sources to complement the half-cent sales tax that it invests in local transportation infrastructure, mobility technology and a variety of program, CCTA officials said.
CCTA serves central Contra Costa County in the San Francisco Bay Area.
