Cubic strengthens Asian ties
advertisement
San Diego-based Cubic Corp. March 16 announced it’s expanded its Singapore operations to include a corporate office to augment Asian defense- and transportation-business development.
The new office is in the same location as Oscmar International Ltd., which Cubic acquired last year.
Cubic Transportation established its Asian presence in 1984 when Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (LTA) contracted Cubic to supply an automated ticketing system.
In April 1999, LTA contracted Cubic for system-wide installation of a recycling contactless smart card vending machine; delivery is slated to begin soon.
The Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, light-rail system also uses a Cubic fare collection system, as does Skytrain in Bangkok, Thailand, under a subcontract with Siemens Transportation Group.
