DART, East Texas agency seek expanded rail connections

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and the North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority have agreed to jointly explore rail connections between north and east Texas.
Last week, DART President/Executive Director Gary Thomas and North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority Chairman Jeff Austin signed an interlocal cooperation agreement that calls for the agencies to identify “potential issues of mutual interest in the development of plans” for future rail service between the state’s north central, northeast and east regions, DART officials said in a prepared statement.
