DART appoints VP of procurement

Dallas Area Rapid Transit Sept. 23 named Kenneth Mercer vice president of its Procurement Department to oversee the awarding and management of DART construction, services and commodity contracts.
Mercer, who joined DART in 1997, most recently served as assistant VP, operational contracts. His experience in procurement activities dates to 1969, when he served U.S. Air Force as a buyer.
He retired from USAF in 1989 as a warranted contracting officer and then served Merrick Industries as a contracts manager until joining DART as claims manager.
