The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Green Line light-rail expansion was named the “Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement” for 2010 by the Texas section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The award recognizes projects that “exemplify civil engineering skills and represent a significant contribution to civil engineering progress and society,” DART officials said in a prepared statement.
STV Inc. was the general engineering consultant for the Phase II Green Line expansion, a 28-mile, 20-station segment that connects southeast Dallas to the Texas cities of Farmers Branch and Carrollton. Completed in December, the entire second phase covers 46 miles and 26 new stations.
