Dallas Area Rapid Transit Aug. 20 continued smoothing executive-shuffle ripples by naming Albert Bazis director of internal audit, replacing Sharon Leary, who in spring was promoted to chief financial officer.
In his new role, Bazis reports directly to DART’s board, providing an annual audit plan and directing internal operational, compliance, information systems, financial and contract audits.
Prior to coming to DART, Bazis was senior vice president of Associates First Capital Corp. He also previously served as audit manager with Arthur Andersen, then joined Associates First Capital, where he worked his way up to become the company’s top audit professional.
"Al’s experience and recognized capabilities will be a valuable addition to DART as we bring light rail to member cities throughout our service area," said DART Chairman Jesse Oliver in a prepared statement.
