DART names new police chief

Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) recently named James Spiller chief of the agency’s police department to succeed Juan Rodriguez, who retired June 30.
Spiller joined DART in 2001 as deputy chief. Before that, he served the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, including a stint as director of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Albuquerque, N.M.
Rodriguez joined DART’s police department in 1989 and was the department’s first officer.
