DART selects Parsons for build-out's second phase
advertisement
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) awarded Parsons an eight-year, systems engineering and construction-management contract for the second phase of the transit agency’s build-out program, comprising about 50 miles of light rail.
Parsons will design and construction manage substations, overhead catenary, signals and communications, central control expansion, corrosion and stray current control, systems elements, automatic fare collection, a storage yard, a service and inspection facility, and storage yard expansion.
DART previously awarded Parsons a $3.6 million contract extension for phase one, which is scheduled to be completed in 2003. Systems design and construction management of phase one is nearly complete, and the remaining two miles of the 22-mile extension are scheduled to enter revenue service in November and December.
