Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) officials have scheduled 18 community meetings, a “Tweet chat” and a public hearing in June to solicit opinions on proposed fare changes.
If approved by DART’s board, the proposed fare changes would go into effect, along with service changes, on Dec. 3. The changes are part of the agency’s 20-year financial plan and would coincide with the opening of the DART Blue Line Extension and Phase 2 of the Orange Line from Las Colinas to Belt Line Station, DART officials said in a prepared statement.
The first of the public meetings will be held June 5. The public hearing prior to the DART board meeting will be held June 26.
The proposals include fare increases in some categories and decreases in others. Some fares would remain unchanged.
