Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) later this month will hold three community meetings to share updates on the Cotton Belt commuter-rail project.

The events will feature presentations about the project, which calls for establishing passenger-rail service on the 26-miles Cotton Belt Corridor between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Plano, Texas.

DART is working with the Federal Transit Administration and Federal Railroad Administration to prepare an environmental impact statement to assess the impacts of  the proposed service.

Discussions will address potential impacts and proposed mitigation strategies, station locations, traffic analysis and grade separations.

The meetings will be held Nov. 29, Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.
