The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) yesterday was awarded the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP)  from the National Procurement Institute Inc. (NPI) for the fifth consecutive year.

The AEP award is given annually to public and nonprofit organizations that demonstrate innovation, professionalism, productivity and leadership in procurement functions. Recipients are scored based on standardized criteria, DCTA officials said in a press release.

“The work of our procurement team is essential to what we do at our agency,” Athena Forester said, DCTA assistant vice president of regulatory compliance. “This recognition … highlights DCTA’s commitment to transparency and leadership in the procurement industry.”

DCTA operates the A-train commuter-rail line connecting the Texas counties of Denton and Dallas.
