Delaware Gov. John Carney and Delaware Transportation Secretary Jennifer Cohan this week unveiled more details about the six-year, $3.2 billion plan to upgrade infrastructure throughout the state.The plan will include more than $100 million for projects in public transportation and rail, Cohan said in a press release.Among the rail and transit projects, the fiscal-years 2020-2025 proposal will provide funds for planning, design and construction on the Newark Regional Transportation Center, according to the project implementation plan document. The center will be constructed in the location of an existing Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority rail station."With these investments, we are modernizing our transportation system statewide," Carney said. "This is the kind of smart, infrastructure investment that will create jobs, alleviate congestion, and lead to real economic growth statewide."When including FY2019's spending, the plan will total more than $4 billion, according to Carney's news release.
