Denver RTD reviews 2010 milestones

The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) recently marked the agency's key events for 2010.
They include:
• The Federal Transit Administration helped recommend $120 million in President Obama's 2011 budget for the FasTracks program. The FTA also approved $304 million in Transportation Infrastructure Finance Innovation Act and Railroad Rehabilitation and Improvement Financing program federal loans for Denver Union Station.
• RTD signed agreements with the BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad for railroad property acquisition, relocation, construction and joint corridor operations needed for the FasTracks project.
• RTD selected Denver Transit Partners to design, build, operate and maintain the Eagle P3 commuter-rail project.
• The East Corridor project broke ground, and the West Corridor project marked the halfway point of construction.
