The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) yesterday marked the arrival of the first commuter train at the new Olde Town Arvada Station in Arvada, Colo.

The train, which will run along the new G Line, passed through the station during a test run, RTD officials said in a press release.

The 11-mile G Line will run from Denver Union Station to the Ward Station in Wheat Ridge, Colo. Along the way, it passes through northwest Denver, Adams County and Arvada.

The route is scheduled to open in fall.

"We have worked so long and so hard to bring rail transportation to Arvada," said RTD Board Director Lorraine Anderson, who represents Arvada and communities along the new G Line.
