Manuel Herrera III, a senior manager in Denver Regional Transportation District’s human resources department, recently was awarded the designation of Certified Transit Department Manager by the International Transit Certification Review Board (ITCRB).



ITCRB is the accreditation body that ensures testing-process integrity for American Public Transit Exams Institute, which organizes and implements certification testing for supervisory and management personnel. The certification process includes a detailed review of the candidate and a comprehensive examination.



Herrera’s certification is valid for three years; to maintain active status, he would need to maintain 10 continuing education units in classroom training and retest.



Prior to joining RTD in 1997, Herrera was chief financial officer and director of administration for San Joaquin Regional Transportation District.
