Edmonton, Alberta, officials last week selected Marigold Infrastructure Partners as the preferred contractor to design, build and partially finance the city’s nearly 8.7-mile Valley Line West light-rail line.

Marigold Infrastructure Partners is a team consisting of Colas, Parsons, Standard General, Francl Architecture, Fast & Epp and Stantec.

The group submitted the lowest financial bid for the CA$2.6 billion Valley Line West project, which will complete the 16.8-mile Valley Line to connect riders between the residential areas of Mill Woods and Lewis Farms in Edmonton, city officials said in a press release.

The contract is expected to be finalized by the end of 2020. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2021 and take about five to six years to complete.

The project has funding commitments from the Alberta and Canadian governments.
