English train leasing company purchases event recorders

Angel Trains Ltd. Dec. 5 signed a $6 million contract to purchase Q-Tron DATACORD 6100-series event recorders from Dorcaster, England-based Wabtec Rail Ltd.
Angel Trains supplies and maintains rolling stock for 19 of England’s 25 train operating companies, and owns 3,700 vehicles.
Optional equipment and services could increase the contract’s value to $10 million. Deliveries are expected to begin in first-quarter 2002 and conclude by year-end 2005.
