Expanded TRE offers September rides free

Trinity Railway Express (TRE) plans to more than double its size Sept. 18 it begins service on a 17-mile extension from South Irving to Richland Hills.

TRE, formed through a partnership between Dallas Area Rapid Transit and Fort Worth Transportation Authority, plans to introduce four new destinations on the route by offering free trips throughout its service area from Sept. 18 to Sept. 30.

But TRE's growth isn’t finished; two additional stations are scheduled to open in downtown Fort Worth next year.
