Flowers to become Charlotte transit system's CEO

Last week, the Charlotte Area Transit System named Carolyn Flowers chief executive officer. Interim CEO John Muth will continue running the agency until Flowers takes the helm on Jan. 4.
Since 2006, Flowers has been chief operating officer for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority. She has held various other positions at the L.A. agency the past 10 years, including executive officer of administration and deputy executive officer for finance.
Flowers previously was budget manager for the city of Beverly Hills, Calif., financial manager for Wang Laboratories, and financial analyst and budget officer for Rockwell International Automotive Operations.
