Later this month, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority will host three public meetings to present results of the initial environmental analyses for its proposed commuter-rail line. The agency also will display rail station concepts.

The 40-mile Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor would run from southwest Fort Worth, through downtown, and northeast to Grapevine to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

Environmental scientists, transportation planners, and noise and vibration specialists have spent the past few months working to analyze environmental conditions along the corridor, identify potential impacts of the project, and propose measures to avoid, minimize or mitigate those potential impacts.
