The Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T) recently promoted Monique Pegues from grant administrator to director of governmental relations.

She joined The T in 1999 as an employer trip reduction representative and later was promoted to marketing community outreach liaison.

In her new position, Pegues will serve as a liaison between congressional and legislative representatives, and state, regional and federal agencies. She also will oversee regulatory reporting and grant management, and evaluate the public transit-related federal, state and local policy issues and initiatives.

The T currently is in the environmental phase for the Southwest-to-Northeast Rail Corridor, a 40-mile commuter-rail line that will run across Tarrant County through downtown Fort Worth and Grapevine, to DFW Airport's entrance.
