French National Railway orders 60 trainsets

Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais (SNCF) Oct. 4 awarded a contract to Bombardier Transportation/Alstom Transport consortium for 22 TGV Duplex 10-car trainsets with an option for an additional 60 trainsets.
Under contract terms, Bombardier would manufacture two first-class and one second-class vehicles, and six carrying bogies per trainset for $66 million. If SNCF exercises all options, the Bombardier’s portion of the total contract value would be $221 million.
