GO Transit completes Stouffville line underpass
advertisement
GO Transit recently completed construction on a $54 million grade separation project on the Stouffville line.
The agency built an underpass at the Hagerman Diamond rail-to-rail crossing, where GO Transit crossed Canadian National Railway Co.'s busy east-west corridor. The crossing caused delays and prevented GO Transit from expanding service on the line, the commuter railroad said.
The project is part of the $1 billion GO Transit Rail Improvement Program, which is being funded by the Government of Canada, Province of Ontario and municipal governments in the Toronto area through the Canada Strategic Infrastructure Program.
