GO Transit creates Passenger Charter

Yesterday, GO Transit unveiled its new “Passenger Charter,” a set of five commitments to improve customer service.

The charter promises GO Transit passengers:
• “We will do our best to be on time.”
• “We will always take your safety seriously.”
• “We will keep you in the know.”
• “We will make your experience comfortable.”
• “We will help you quickly and courteously.”

After consulting with passengers to create the charter, GO Transit officials noted the top two priorities were on-time performance and safety, according to a prepared statement. To address on-time performance, the agency has implemented new protocols to minimize the effects of cold, snow and ice on railway operations, and is placing more MP40 locomotives into service that can pull 12-car trains.

To address safety, GO Transit has implemented new policies for parking enforcement, removal of abandoned vehicles and managing offensive activity on agency property. In addition, transit safety officers have new uniforms to enhance their visibility.
