GO Transit’s ridership increased 1.2 percent to 57 million riders and on-time performance rose to 94 percent in fiscal-year 2010-11, up from 91.7 percent the previous year.
The annual performance figures were reported recently to the Metrolinx board, GO Transit officials said in a prepared statement. The report was part of an assessment of GO Transit’s “Passenger Charter,” a five-step plan launched in November 2010 to improve service.
“We have made track and maintenance improvements to reduce the length and the number of delays,” said GO Transit President Gary McNeil. “Our focus is to improve the service for our customers as much as we can.”
