advertisement
Toronto’s GO Transit recently awarded a $1 million contract to Global Railway Industries Ltd. to supply replacement railroad event recorder systems.
Instrumentation/electronic monitoring equipment manufacturer Bach-Simpson Corp., which Global Railway acquired last month, will supply the event recorder systems. The recorders are designed to retain vital information for accident investigations, train-handling studies, fuel conservation, vehicle performance and preventative maintenance programs.
An interregional public transit system, GO Transit operates seven train lines, which on a typical weekday carry about 130,000 passengers.
