GO Transit to add weekday rush-hour rides

Effective June 25, GO Transit plans to operate an additional weekday peak-hour train along the Milton corridor in Toronto.
Two existing Toronto-bound trips will depart five minutes earlier along the route to make way for the new train during the morning rush hour, GO Transit officials said in a prepared statement.
Existing afternoon service will not be affected, but Milton GO buses departing Union Station at 3:40 p.m. will be discontinued because riders will have the option of taking the additional afternoon train.
The new service will help the agency keep up with ridership demands, said GO Transit President Gary McNeil.
“Areas served by the Milton corridor have seen an exceptional amount of population and employment growth in recent years, and this will continue,” he said.
