GO Transit to hike fares on March 20
advertisement
On Feb. 19, Metrolinx’s board approved a fare increase and “more equal” discounted fare structure for GO Transit.
To take effect March 20, the fare hike includes a 25-cent increase in the cost of every adult single-ride ticket. Under the revised fare structure, all 10-ride tickets will provide a 7.5 percent discount over 10 single-ride tickets, and monthly passes will provide a 17.5 percent discount over 40 single-ride tickets.
“A fare increase this year will help to ensure that GO Transit can continue to offer high-quality services to its riders in a fiscally responsible fashion,” said Metrolinx Chairman Rob MacIsaac in a prepared statement.
