advertisement
The government dollars just keep coming for Toronto's GO Transit. Last week, the Canadian and Ontario governments announced two separate funding allocations for the commuter-rail agency.
As part of a $500 million funding agreement announced in February, the governments awarded GO Transit an additional $213 million to refurbish and purchase locomotives, and upgrade stations, track and bridges. For information on specific projects, follow this link.
Government officials also announced a $250 million earmark for another set of GO Transit system improvements, including additional station and infrastructure upgrades, new maintenance and storage facilities, and new stations.
