Greater Cleveland RTA's Calabrese joins USDOT's ITS committee

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood recently appointed Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Joe Calabrese to the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Program Advisory Committee. RTA’s leader since 2000, Calabrese will serve a two-year term.
Established by Congress, the committee reviews ITS research conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and provides advice on ITS-related policy matters. ITS refers to advanced technology initiatives aimed at improving information and communications systems in the transportation industry, according to the USDOT.
