New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority recently appointed Ira Greenberg to the board. He will join the MTA Long Island Rail Road/Long Island Bus Committee.

An attorney with join law firm Leavitt, Kerson & Duane, Greenberg previously was counsel to Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan. From 1987 to 2003, he worked for the New York State Assembly, providing counsel on transportation issues, especially those related to MTA Capital Programs.

Greenberg will fill a seat vacated by James McGovern, who has served the board since 2002. Greenberg's term will expire on Jan. 1, 2013.
