HART to update public on Honolulu transit-rail project
The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transit (HART) will host a meeting tomorrow to update the public on the transit-rail construction project.
HART is ramping up construction along the alignment, officials said in the agency’s weekly email newsletter.
In West O’ahu, nearly 40 columns are completed, utility work is under way and grading at the 43-acre maintenance and operations site is nearly finished, they said.
Construction also is under way at the pre-cast facility in Kalaeloa, which will produce sections of the concrete elevated guideway. Meanwhile, contractors are conducting geotechnical soil testing in Aiea, Pearl City, Kalihi, downtown and Kakaako.
The agency is overseeing construction of a 20-mile elevated light-rail line. The first 10 miles of the route, from Kapolei to Aloha Stadium, are under construction.
