Houston Metro reaches out to small-business owners

Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris Co., Texas plans to offer a free class on Microsoft Project, a project-management software program, to help METRO-certified small businesses navigate the authority’s procurement process.
To be held Aug. 20 and 22, the two-part class offers tools for implementing project management principals and practices for accomplishing business goals. The first part of the class, offered through METRO’s Opportunities University, involves planning a project; the second, tracking it.
