Houston's METRO names Trevino general counsel

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (METRO) has promoted Alva Trevino from acting general counsel to general counsel.
Trevino joined the agency in 1997 as senior staff counsel, responsible for the personal injury docket and providing legal advice on construction contract disputes. She was promoted to deputy general counsel in 2006, and led the real estate department from June 2009 to February 2010. Recently, she became acting general counsel.
“During the time Alva has served as acting general counsel, she has been an essential participant in working through difficult issues the authority has faced,” said METRO Chief Executive Officer and President George Greanias in a prepared statement. “She has exhibited a strong and continuing commitment to METRO and its mission.”
