Italian Railways orders 100 Bombardier locomotives

Italian Railways (Trenitalia) Dec. 7 awarded Bombardier Transportation a $177 million contract to supply 100 E464-type electric locomotives — a follow-on to a 140-locomotive order Trenitalia signed in 1996.



To date, Bombardier has delivered 70 of the original order’s locomotives; the company plans to deliver four of the second contract’s engines monthly between May 2003 and July 2005.
