On June 29, Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) plans open its Jersey City, N.J., Exchange Place Station for the first time since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.



The $160 million restoration project included constructing new crossover tunnels and track work, and extending platforms to accommodate 10-car trains.



After the World Trade Center PATH station was destroyed during the attacks, PATH trains were unable to get in or out of the Exchange Place Station without creating serious disruptions to other PATH services.



When the station reopens, PATH plans to restore routes similar to the ones that operated before Sept. 11. The station will accommodate about 8,000 daily trips, according to a prepared statement.
