L.A.’s Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority recently issued a request for proposals for the Foothill Extension Phase 2A light-rail alignment work.
The more than $450 million design/build/finance project will include final design, construction and financing of 11.5 miles of track, utilities, crossings and systems. The project also calls for building six stations and multiple bridges, and a more than 25-acre light-rail maintenance facility. Under Phase 2A, the authority plans to extend the Metro Gold Line from its current terminus in East Pasadena and add stations in Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale and Azusa.
Proposals are due Jan. 27, 2011, and an award is anticipated in April 2011, authority officials said in a prepared statement.
