The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) has appointed Nadine Lee interim chief of staff, a newly created position.

She currently serves as deputy chief innovation officer for Metro's Office of Extraordinary Innovation. Lee has launched innovative concepts to provide a more flexible and customer-friendly mobility system in Los Angeles County and led the development of Vision 2028, the agency’s 10-year strategic plan, Metro officials said in a press release.

In 2015, she led an American Public Transportation Association (APTA) leadership team to study the role of public transportation in today's mobility ecosystem. Lee also served two terms on the Women Transportation Seminar's (WTS) international board and recently was named WTS' Los Angeles Woman of the Year. Moreover, she is a member of the Federal Transit Administration's Research Advisory Council and APTA's Mobility Management Committee.

Lee has served as a project manager on numerous infrastructure projects involving light rail, streetcars, bike master plans, people movers, convention center expansions, bus rapid transit and environmental impact statements in California, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon and Washington.
