L.A. Metro's September rail ridership inches toward pre-COVID levels


Rail ridership has reached 85.1% of its pre-COVID-19 pandemic ridership levels as of September.

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority's (L.A. Metro) rail boardings increased by nearly 10% in September year over year, the L.A. Metro officials announced last week.

Rail ridership has reached 85.1% of pre-COVID-19 pandemic ridership levels as of September, with weekday rail boardings growing 11.7% from last year, and weekend rail ridership standing at 99.4% of its September 2019 ridership levels. 

The light-rail system's A Line ridership grew 16.2%; E Line ridership increased by 18%; C Line ridership climbed 10.7%; and K Line ridership rose 4.1% from last year.
