LACMTA to seek more public input on proposed subway project

The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) will hold community meetings later this month to update the public on the Westside subway extension project, which is now in the final environmental impact statement/report planning phase.
LACMTA officials will discuss feedback from community meetings conducted in January, the project’s ongoing geotechnical investigations, the status of Station Area Advisory Groups and Century City Station, and project cost estimates, agency officials said in a prepared statement.
The final environmental review will continue into the summer, when it’s anticipated that the document will be ready for public review. LACMTA’s board could consider adoption of the plan in fall, at which point the project would move into final design and construction, based on the availability of funding, agency officials said.
The meetings will be held March 21 and March 23 in Los Angeles, and March 29 in Beverly Hills, Calif.
