LACMTA urges riders to "Make the Right Play" in new etiquette campaign

Following similar courtesy campaigns at U.S. transit agencies, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transit Authority (LACMTA) yesterday debuted a series of videos detailing proper transit etiquette.

The videos cover topics like boarding safely, respecting operators, bringing luggage or bikes on board and several others.

The videos, much like Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority's "Dude It's Rude" campaign, address the issues in a humorous and lighthearted manner. But LACMTA's videos depict various behavior blunders as "fouls" and urge riders to "Make the Right Play." A referee throws flags at riders who violate transit etiquette, and two announcers explain why the riders were in error.

The videos are posted on a new page dedicated solely to transportation etiquette.
