MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) yesterday completed platform and station upgrades at the Lynbrook commuter-rail station in New York.

The four-track elevated station now features two new island platforms, platform canopies, and new signage, LED lighting and security cameras.

The $17.9 million enhancement was funded through the 2015-19 MTA Capital Plan.

Work on the station began May 2019 and has been completed one month ahead of schedule, LIRR officials said in a press release.

JMJ Electric constructed Platform B and Zion Construction constructed Platform A.

Located at Sunrise Highway and Peninsula Boulevard in Lynbrook, the station serves LIRR’s Long Beach Branch and Babylon Branch riders.
